I wouldn't say that.  If TLG was to produce the Millenium Falcon in it's
proper size, it would be a far too large set to sell.  (Ok, so I know
that a lot of people around here would buy it, but for most kids it
would be too large.)

LEGO usually compress large models and make them smaller.  As an
example, consider the minifig scale versions of the space shuttle, or
even some of the passenger jets.  They are consistently around four
studs wide, i.e., as wide as a normal LEGO car:

So I woundn't be surprised if your size assesment of the Millenium
Falcon is fairly correct.

I'd have to agree... also, bear in mind that a Falcon the size of an X-Wing is
still a lot bigger than the X-Wing just in terms of pieces, etc., since it's a
lot more bulky, and doesn't have real 'wings' or a thin body...

But usually, the toy versions of vehicles and buildings do come out smaller
than they 'should'... The original Kenner MF was less than half the size it
should have been for the action figures... It was even a bit small for minifig
scale! (although they fattened it up so it was less sleek and more bulky)

Of course, the odd thing is that the SW Lego sets have come out surprisingly
well scale-wise (at least the Classic stuff.. I haven't checked out the Episode
I stuff as much). The X-wing is nearly correct length and width-wise, as is the
Y-wing... I'm not as sure on Darth's TIE, but it also looks fairly correct.

The WIERD thing is that 2 of vehicles are actually BIGGER than they 'should'
be: the snowspeeder and the speeder bikes... The snowspeeder isn't actually too
bad, it comes out only a couple feet longer than it 'should' be, depending on
which 'official' measurement you go by. But then again, since it's such a small
ship, that makes for a larger percentage... As for the speeder bikes, they're
just completely off. WAY longer than they're supposed to be...

Anyway, it wouldn't really surprise me to see an MF model that was about the
same dimentions as the X-Wing, although I'm certainly hoping it'll be as close
to accurate as possible!
