Star Wars v. Harry Potter —John R. Beck
Is it just my imagination or has Lego done a better job developing their potter line than their star wars line? I just seems the pieces are cooler. What got me thinking was the difference between Chewbacca and that big brown dude with the huge black (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Kevin Wanner
(...) On FBTB they said a few months ago that the ewoks are shorter then other figs In one of the pics of the new HP sets it shows some shorter people. So I think that the ewoks are shorter. But who knows --Kevin W. § (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Aaron Sneary
(...) I know. Yes the Ewoks and the goblins from Gringott's bank are described as mini-minifigs. And Hagrid (the big brown guy) is significantly larger than a human or Chewbacca. Chewie was a head or two taller than Han right? Hagid is 9 1/2 or 10 (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —John R. Beck
Wow. I didn't realize the ewoks were smaller. They look the same size as the rest of em. Veddy cool. I'm not into the potter stuff but of course I had to get em all. Fluffy is quite nifty. Its frustrating to see info about sets float around but not (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Mark Chittenden
No Sandcrawler or Deathstar - looks like the major additions to the Star Wars line will be the top end (price wise) Rebel Blockade Runner, with mostly 'mini(figs)' sets added. (...) same size as (...) course I (...) sets are more (...) was made for (...) (23 years ago, 24-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —David Eaton
(...) My impression was exactly the opposite. SW line (ESPECIALLY the 1999 sets) were amazingly done. There was little if any juniorization, and the sets were *much* more accurate than I would have expected. Granted it's since gone downhill a (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —John R. Beck
I guess my only real beef was the Falcon. In my opinion it was absolutely horrible. The minifigs were great though. I theorized that since Potter can be considered an extension of Lego's castle themes maybe they had better in house production on it. (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) I know that lego has made more then sixty new molds for star wars --Kevin W. § (23 years ago, 25-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —John Green
I think comparing the Star Wars LEGO Sets with the Harry Potter sets isn't really fair. The Star Wars sets have essentially all been vehicle sets, whereas with Potter, aside from the train, they are all playsets. Designing a LEGO playset and a LEGO (...)          Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —David Eaton
(...) Well, you're right-- they're very different themes. And granted it's easy to come up with set ideas for SW. I mean, SW already has a HUGE bonus insofar as its spaceship designs were cool and semi-"realistic", unlike many of the space sets (...) (23 years ago, 28-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Allan Bedford
(...) It's just your imagination. ;) (...) Well, actually you've asked two questions. Is the line better? (as in are the sets better designed?) Or, are the pieces in one line of sets cooler than in the other. The Harry Potter sets may have cooler (...) (23 years ago, 24-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —John R. Beck
Yea, I meant Hagrid. I went to see the "Forbidden Love" Star Wars trailer that was supposed to be before Potter and they didn't have it. So I left, got my money back and will go to another theater. To me the trailer is as big an attraction as the (...) (23 years ago, 26-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Allan Bedford
(...) Just checking. ;) (...) Too bad you didn't stay. From what I've seen of Episode II, the Harry Potter movie will be more worth the time and money. :) (...) Egad! Herein lies the problem.          Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Bryan Hodges
(...) <snip> (...) That's a shame, HP's a great flick. I haven't read the books either, and knew virtually nothing of the storyline or the HP world, but the movie was great. Of course, I was hoping for the trailer too, but I went expecting the (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Star Wars v. Harry Potter —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Well considering Hagrid was described in the book as "...twice as high as a normal man and five times as wide.), I am glad Chewbacca was a normal fig. What annoys me is the stupid "flaps" that cover the torso attached to his head. So much for (...) (23 years ago, 24-Nov-01, to lugnet.starwars)
