Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) In fact, I *had* missed that, but I'm glad to hear it. Thanks for enlightening me! Dave! (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) I think you must have missed but that dog has been roundly critisized by the Mexican American community. They have repeatedly asked for the adds to be pulled and Taco Bell keeps coming back with some other lame excuse as to why the dog is not (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) I think it's actually about $50, if it's the one I saw over the weekend. Dave! (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) Besides which, the whole issue depends on suspension of disbelief (see, Greg--that's how it works!) Obviously aliens wouldn't speak English, but are you really interested in watching a show in which 58 minutes of each episode are devoted to (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) I read that the Nemoidians were criticized for sounding too "middle eastern," which I didn't perceive at all. From the first time I heard JarJar, though, I couldn't help seeing decades-old stereotypes of the finest step-and- (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) I'd like to speak with your teacher, because that's not what suspension of disbelief is about at all. Suspension of disbelief entails an overlooking of improbable or impossible elements of a story so that, incorporating those elements, the (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) You may not have offended him, but you've managed to get me miffed. I happen to be a fan of both Star Wars *and* Babylon 5, and I don't see how the two are mutually exclusive. eric (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) Perhaps for some reason Chewbacca declined a medal? If he felt that he was merely performing part of his life-debt to Han, for example, he might well have said "no thanks" to receiving an award. eric (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Minifig packs - page updated

(...) I know that story. I understood that, seen in the context of the time the series where originaly broadcasted, her role still had a considerabe positive impact. Or did someone just made that story up afterwards ? [snip] (...) Please notify me (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) hmmm... and how many movies have you directed? Quit calling the kettle black until you become a pan... or something like that... :) When you make your millions from an excellent series of sci fi movies come back and we'll talk. Otherwise, (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) In addition, both Luke and Han bowed somewhat accomodate Leia's reach, so a deeper bow from Chewie wouldn't have been out of place. Does the fact that he was First Mate rather than Captain have anything to do with it? Just a thought, though he (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

(...) I remain skeptical. Chewie could have kneeled or bowed low. It was careless to put Chewie in the scene (particularly since the whole audience knows that he deserves to be honored), and then fail to adequately recognize his bravery. Lucas gets (...) (...) stage (...) Well, wouldn't they have to slignshot around the Sun? I don't think Han and Luke have actually been anywhere near Earth (sector 001), so there ain't a snowball's chance in you-know-where of the MF ever pulling that stunt. Besides, (...) Please, Lucas, don't (...) AMEN! Not that he ain't creative, but some people should stick to what they have talent at. Directing ain't it Lucas. Aaron (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: A couple stupid SW questions...

While Chewie may not have gotten a medal, at least he got to stand on the stage with Han and Luke. If I remember correctly the only other survivors of the attack on the Death Star were one Y-wing and one X-wing fighter. After suffering about 90% (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)
