  Re: Boba Fett's jetpack

(...) Kaadu (or is it Kaadus?) (...) I really hope it isn't 'any new element introduced in a SW set'...the 2x4 extremely low slopes were originally SW, no? Here's hoping the Jedi hoods aren't included either, or the tan and grey hairpieces...or the (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Boba Fett's jetpack

I'd say the cockpit pieces, plus the laser cannons could be used in other lego themes (the cockpits would probably have to have a different paint job, though.) I think pieces like Boba's hlmet/backpack, Jar Jar's head and the Eopies from the Gungan (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Boba Fett's jetpack

(...) What exactly is a "Star Wars element" though? I find that one very hard to define... So what happens if TLC uses the cockpit pieces in a non-SW related model? I don't think Lucasfilms can be so "possessive" of their designs. "That laser cannon (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Boba Fett's jetpack

(...) I dont think its the coolest thing Lego could of done, but I don’t think you’re taking into account that EVERY star wars element Lego produces is the Intellectual Property of Lucasfilms and can never be used in another Lego theme. I personally (...) (25 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Future Wild West Possibilities

(...) Hmmm, I wonder if (to get this back "on topic" for .starwars) if TLG can't acquire a license to "F Troop"...or maybe to "Glory" (but then they'd have to handle race in minifigs, wouldn't they?). Idle speculation, and naturally it's got zero (...) (25 years ago, 21-Mar-00, to lugnet.western, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Boba Fett's jetpack

(...) Indeed. I think it was very poorly done. I thought the helmet could have several uses, but they saved a nice chunk of change on producing one mold instead of two (For instance, the plant I worked at, the car parts molds ran from 100,000USD to (...)   Boba Fett's jetpack

I just got hold of a #7144 Slave I, after a too-long wait. I no sooner than opened it when I noticed something: Boba Fett's jetpack is attached to his helmet?! This may be just fine for some 10 year old, but as an AFOL, I had great hopes for Fett. (...) (25 years ago, 21-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Future Wild West Possibilities

(...) I'm confused. There's all this talk about how Lego won't do a Civil war theme, because it's American and Lego is European. The thing is, the whole western theme is American, in the first place. The whole cowboys and indians (or Native (...) (25 years ago, 21-Mar-00, to lugnet.western, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Future Wild West Possibilities

(...) Once upon a time it was evident that Lego was not a war toy, back when the castle and space themes were young, but it seems that with each new theme, or introduction of a sub theme Lego is just beggin' the kids to play war with their Legos. I to would love to see lando make it into lego. I just think something would be missing if he didn't. About lego not doing civil war sets, I would not rule it out.
