  Re: Republic Gunship!

(...) HA!! :D Or Dracula... Is there a villan that he would not fit the role of? Speaking of good villans (and completely off topic to boot), check out the surprising Jeremy Irons in The Time Machine. Yech, he is spooky!! -Aaron- (22 years ago, 16-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

<Last time I checked, Saruman was firmly (...) Good grief... I guess that was a freaky freudian slip. Well, at least I didn't call him Lord Summerisle. - Long live Christopher Lee (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Republic Gunship!

(...) <snip> Stop drooling for a minute and double-check your literature/movie protagonist & antagonist lists. Last time I checked, Saruman was firmly planted in Tolkien lore making himself a bad neighbor, while Yoda was back at the ranch. The (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Republic Gunship!

Hey... I was just at the Wal-Mart at Lougheed Mall in Burnaby, B.C. I picked up the Yoda/Saruman set last week, and the only other thing they had was the technic Jango Fett. But today...! They had Anakin and the Sandpeople (which I bought), the (...) (22 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  FBTB@CII Lineup

I've put up the official page for the exhibit next month in Indianapolis - it will indeed be the largest public display of fan built Star Wars items ever, with contributions from Sullivan, Harshbarger, Fleskes, Kuester, Palmer, Sawaya and more.   Secret identity of clonetroopers-----revealed!

I was planning to do a series of postings on the secrets of Episode II discovered by me, but I got this tidbit this morning and it's too important to retain. CLONETROOPERS ARE CLONED FROM JANGO FETT!! Tune in later for more! Oh, and Episode II (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Cool Star Wars fan music video....

(...) Hey! Great stuff here! Yet another awesome star wars music video for my enjoyment! (can't get enough star wars!) Since this isn't exactly lego related, but all the same quite interesting, I have taken the liberty to set the FUT for (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: about the episode 2 sets, my thoughts as to what happened

The reason those sets were out on the floor was the same reason Wal-Mart is so successful. See, Wal-Mart can have lower prices on things because they have no inventory in the back. They have 99.9% of their products on the floor, so they can dedicate (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler '02

(...) I dunno-- I'm almost tempted to say that Star Trek could've hurt the sci-fi market for SW had it been first. First off, effects. One of the HUGE things SW did was the great effects. Chances are ST would've had the same cheezy effects that (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler '02

(...) I doubt this would have been true mostly because ST the Motion Picture was just a little to slow. It was closer to 2001 ASO then it was SW. SW had blasters firing and a much faster script. Plus ST tries to base in self in some sort of "future (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: In line for Episode 2 Already? Sheesh!

Several TRU's are gonna have the Midnight Madness when Episode II toys come out. Check out www.theforce.net and look under Collecting. They have a list of all participating TRU locations. BTW. I'm more excited about the new Lego's on April 23rd than (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler '02

(...) I believe that most sci-fi after Star Wars used Lucases own special effects production company, ILM, to do the effects in their movies. Before this, most studios did cheesy effects 'in house' (2001 being a noteable exception, those were pretty (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler '02

(...) I think this is exactly right, and I would suggest that the other late-70's might not have been possible or successful without many of the techniques established during Star Wars, not to mention the market-credibility of science fiction (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler '02

(...) Another thing that made a big difference (IMO) is that before Star Wars, there was a fairly long drought of 'big' science fiction movies. Sure, there were some movies around, but not many. So I think people were much more receptive to Star (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

In line for Episode 2 Already? Sheesh!

To All, I am about excited as the next person to seeing this film, but I am not standing in line for over a month to wait. How would I pay all of my LEGO bills? (URL) TRU going to have that midnight opening again when Episode 1 toys come out? Scott (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

Comparison Pics of TIE Interceptors (UCS & Vintage)

I've just added comparison pics of two TIE Interceptors (UCS & Vintage) in our brickshelf gallery. I was asked about this by a friend of mine and I thought that maybe some of you might also be interested in it. (URL) & Sons member #1500 Homepage (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Jawa Sandcrawler '02

(...) I've never watched it! (and I'm twelve) I've read both the DK Star Wars reference books, and know a bit about the craft, but never watched the movie! Anyway, great sandcrawler. Great detail, right down to the auxillary hatch on the main door. (...) (23 years ago, 10-Apr-02, to lugnet.starwars)
