Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) A more refined guess: 80' - 96' (...) I checked snowspeeder length a bit more closely. They're about 16 feet long, +/- a foot. So revamp that guess to 60' - 68' (a little over in each case). (...) I still agree with this 60' - 93' measurement, (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) Well I do agree that 50' would just seem too small. The version I made at (URL) Is slightly smaller than minifig scale and according to the stud height, it's over 50'. (And if you look at my picture, don't rag on me about the head, I know it's (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Technic C-3P0: My First Impression

(...) Can you provide a list of what parts you do get in the gold/silver color? (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) Forgive me if I sound like I'm ranting about the size of the AT-AT... It's really not all THAT important-- and I'm SURE if we actually measured the models used in the movies, got the distance to camera of the filming of the little luke (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: UCS Inspired Minifig Scale T-65 X-Wing

(...) Thanks Admiral...ahem..."Grand" Admiral Sandlin! Mark Chan P.S. After several weeks, I'm still trying to assemble the parts to replicate your MotoTek Shiva (great model - looks like it belongs in Neo-Tokyo from the movie Akira). I accidently (...)   Re: UCS Inspired Minifig Scale T-65 X-Wing

(...) <snip> (...) My thanks to both of you for pointing this out. I found a few pairs on Brickbay. They will come in handy...somewhere (or at least, that's what I keep telling myself to justify all the rest of the lego parts I've collected over the (...)   Technic C-3P0: My First Impression

Yesterday I saw boxes of 8008, the Technic Stormtrooper, at the nearby TRU. I bought one, and when I opened the box, surpringly I found not a Stormtrooper, but a 8007 C-3P0 inside. No matter. I like C-3P0, too. After I built it, sadly I must say the (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) Hey All, I don't want to sound rude but why not avoid the "argument" and confusion. I haven't read all of this conversation but according to my blueprints the AT-AT is 15.5 meters equaling 50.8524 feet. Why not just go with 50 feet? Joe (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) <fanatic level=almost_there> Very true. There's a lot to consider :) There are a couple key scenes to derive the AT-AT's actual height. 1. Luke ascending to the underbelly (there's a shot available on www.starwars.com) 2. The foot trampling (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

1st rule: NEVER go by what you see in the movie!! In one scene, the AT-AT's could easily be 100 M tall, wheras in the scene when the foot steps on luke's snowspeeder, it is significantly smaller (to scale w/ the foot, maybe 10 M tall at the (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) I think that the general consensus we all reached was that LEGO will most likely offer that service based on a limited number and type of parts. ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) ... (...) I remember wanting to kill for that AT-AT when I was a kid. Anyway, if LEGO put out an AT-AT in a big box (size of UCS/Millenium Falcon) I'd buy one (or two, even). -Zak PS - I heard a rumor that LEGO.com was eventually going to have (...)   Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) Actually, going by the movies, an AT-AT's about 75 feet tall, which translates to about 525 mm in minifig scale which is about 65 studs tall... But 40 studs would about work for the often reported 50-feet height of the AT-AT, though... (...) (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) I would have thought that it might impact on sales of the Dark Side Developer's Kit (DSDK). I know they'd be very different models in appearance, but the big attraction of the DSDK is that it's a Lego AT-AT; that's why it takes centre image on (...)   Re: 8007 versus 8008

(...) A similar one, anyway: the new LOM value pack just arrived at Walmart here, and I found one on the shelf with a second copy of 7308, instead of the 7309. Too bad there's no cheap way to certify the shrinkwrap as original: I could probably get (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: 8007 versus 8008

Funny thing, I got them both at our TRU here in Binghamton NY today err yesterday now :). They were switched and still had the original seals. All parts, papers, ads, everything was there but they were switched. PS they had Cameraman from movie (...)   8007 versus 8008

This evening, I bought a set of 8008, the Technic Stormtrooper, from the TRU near Highway 84. When I opened the box, surprisingly I found a C-3P0 inside, with the instructions and stickers, not the Stormtrooper. Interestingly, there were only (...)
