You're right, Eric: it is nice when you connect with someone after all your
hard work. And I think that's where some people are getting turned off
because they don't feel like they are connecting since few people if any
respond. It's amazing how much even one acknowledgement, even if it is
constructive critism, lends to the overall experience. MichLUG has met only
a few times since it's conception (the group I belong to) and so I crave
every chance to converse with people with similar interests. But that being
said, it's no reason to stop submitting MOCs if no one responds. Everything
constructive thing we do here plays a part in enriching someone's life, even
if it just our own life sometimes. That may seem overly dramatic, but I
really do think that creativity is one of several keys to personal
happiness. For some people it's gardening, other's it's writing code. For
me, one of my outlets involves little plastic bricks.
