Large Intrepid-class Space MOC - Never seen as big a ship posted yet

I've posted some pics of the most detailed, heaviest, biggest ship I ever built. It is a 7-deck model of an Intrepid-class (I believe) starship, the kind Voyager was - for you Trek fans. Yes I know the real ship has 16 decks. I can feel the mental (...) (20 years ago, 14-May-04, to lugnet.space) !

In lugnet.space, Tim Courtney wrote: SNIP (...) Hi Tim, what I did was structure the inner wall rooms to generally overlap supporting plates and bricks where the floor/celing plates met. For example, main inner corridors were either 8 studs across (...) (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.space)

Jesus H. Christ. That's a huge, complex ship. I'd estimate that the parts alone cost $1500-2000, and the craft took 14+ months to build. How close am I? The structural engineering must be robust indeed. Great job. More commentary would be (...) (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) wow! Okay, I can really appreciate the effort it took to build that... I built a SHIP called the Benevolent Grace a few years ago, and your SHIP beats it in a few dimensions. The Ben Grace was over 8 feet long, but it was only a foot and a (...) (20 years ago, 16-May-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) Hi Joel, Thanks for the reply and the comments! I am not a huge Start Trek fan either, but I like the design of a couple of the ships from those series. Per the blue color, it just betrays the fact that I had always liked the classic blue from (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) Hi Bill, here is how I get most of my Lego: 1. Go to stores that sell Lego, looking for specials and clearance items. 2. Check my .loc.* group on LUGNET, where people will mention what specials are where. 3. Buy sets on special if they have (...) (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Hi Jordan, parts were more, time was less, closer to about 6-7 months. I had some delay I couldn't help because during the building I was ordering and waiting for parts. Lee (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space)

Thanks for the tip! I tend to go through alot of 1 x X bricks. I would really like alot of regular grey 1 x X bricks. I want to build a large hanger/living space for my custom A-wing. (20 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Just to add a bit to what Paul has already said. For "plain bricks" you can't beat Lego Buckets. We bought one not too long ago that even has colors like green, brown, and tan (in addition to the traditional colors like black, white, blue, (...) (20 years ago, 19-May-04, to lugnet.space)

Oh.....oh my. That thing is amazing! And all those slopes! I didn't think they even made that many! Excellent work. Truly a master of the brick! Chris McNamee (20 years ago, 20-May-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) Hi Chris, thanks for the comments! I still can sit there and look at it myself. The thing is, in the pictures so far, you don't see all the slopes that are on the INSIDE! On most of the decks, in order to form a "join" between plates, there (...) (20 years ago, 20-May-04, to lugnet.space)
