With the growing threat of 3vil, Dr.Terrible, the 3GA, and Space Hippies, the
Jr.Marshalate recognized the need for a reasonably cheap, easy to produce a
shuttle with long range capabilities and enough fire power to take down most
foes that larger ships, such as the
Kalashnikov were
unable to deal with.
The result is the Zhukov Class Assault Shuttle.
It carries a crew of four (one Komandant, and three Lejtenants), all of whom
are trained in all functions of the shuttle (pilot, navigator, 2 gunners).
Armaments include four large laser-cannons and four nuclear-tipped torpedoes.
Engines are a main Volelov Class III and two Volelov Class IIb thrusters.
The Power supply comes from three multi-level Lithium sub-fusion reactors in
the Engine section.
The Zhukov is not meant to land, and features a brand new Eastern Block
standard portal that a smaller shuttle can dock with for crew transfers.

Building notes: inspired by Adrians secret SHIP project and Sorens
Mephistopheles. I really like the squareness of the Meph. which is what I
tried to replicate in the bridge section. I was playing with the idea of
making the neck part hollow to allow a fig to travel through so they can fix
the engine area, but that concept will have to wait til my next SHIP moc.
the entire thing is modular and breaks down into small componenents: bridge
section, neck section, engine section - for ease of transport. i will take
pictures of how exactly i do this later.
the neck is made using technic beams and some tricky snot to get studs on
all sides. i spent quite some time figuring that out. also, when i was
editing pictures for this, my computer BROKE and so i had to do this all on
my wifes work computer. hehehe

Good stuff Lenny! I think the design of the bridge is perfect for the EB
theme...very angular and emminently practical...and the permanent frown of the
front viewport is sufficiently menacing.
The underside use of SNOT greebling is excellent and has a sense of purpose.
The greebs on the neck are great too...not too busy, but enough to break up the
form.
The only criticism I would have to offer is the pattern of the stepped slopes on
the fins...they are little distracting from the smooth line of the rest of the
ship. Perhaps using the large 1x6x6 slopes
http://ldraw.org/library/official/images/0/30249.png to get a smooth line?
Just my 2 briks...
Veddy nice build, comrade.

I'm actually getting tired of doing all the greebling - to a certain degree it is getting boring, and i really like the greebling using just tiles, like alternating between grills and tiles, etc. Also, i'm trying to conserve for my (...)
