Hey Dan, I gotta question:

I know that you have not made the captain's quarters yet, but aside from the
two access tubes to the bridge, there seems to be space in the bridge pylon
(the neck that attaches the ship body to the bridge), and directly behind
the bridge access tubes on the bridge level.  I noticed that you have
eliminated the escape pods.  Is the space directly behind the bridge a
suitable spot for an integrated pod (the section would pull away from the
ship) and the captain's quarters be directly below the bridge like you did
on your original carrier?

Well, the neck IS where the Captain's quarters is located but I didn't
bother fleshing it out this time. I guess I should. Originally, I was
thinking the whole bridge would double as an escape vessel but I didn't
bother with that either. But I like your integrated pod idea for the back of
the bridge. I would need to extend the bridge back at least 6 studs to make
a pod to hold 7. That leaves 2 crewmen below who need a fast escape. I
should change the dual lateral thrusters (in the back) to a single thruster
like the ones in front. That would create a 6 stud wide space for a 2-person
escape pod on either side of the hull. The only problem is the exterior
placement has to match the interior because I really don't feel like tearing
up the interior. I'll think of something.

Also, there are two doors off to either side of the crew hall, that seem to
access the torpedo pylons on the port and starboard sides.  Are those also
the head/shower access?

Yes. One is for storage and the other is the bathroom. But, again, I didn't
bother fleshing them out.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes!  :)
