Couldn't agree more. This film should be must viewing for any science
fiction fans. Be forewared... it's very dark. Much more subdued and
introspective than most other stories in this genre. It's everything that
Attack of the Clones isn't. :) Not a film for kids or anyone who isn't
ready to do some thinking during a flick.
For even more background, give the book a read. The movie was based on a
novel by Philip K. Dick, called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" The
book is darker yet than the movie and delves deeper into the character of
Deckard (played by Harrison Ford).
All the best,
Allan B.
(who is anxiously awaiting the 20th anniversary 3 DVD edition of Blade
Runner which *should* be released this year... one year late for the actual
20th anniversary.)
