(...) The alternating slopes detail is one of my favourite ideas for the Lance, I'm glad you liked it. I thought I could have used a bit more angles and SNOT myself. My next one definitely will use them more. Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (22 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Funny, the main body of the Flame is what I'm least happy with. I guess it's a shape I've seen before and I wanted something more distinctive. I'll be keeping the front of the Flame for a new ship anyway. Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (22 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Well, only the Flame is limited edition, really. I think the Lance is a comfortable maximum size/weight for a microfig capital ship; lots of room for detail, and still somewhat swooshable. In my chosen micro scale (1/8 minifig) it's about 450 (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Funny you should say that - I worked with three detailing scales in mind: 1. Overall scale - the general form of the ship and shape of bulkheads. It worked well for the Lance, not so well for the Flame IMO. 2. Stud scale - the form given to (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

WOW. I had seen the wallpaper image that included both of these behemoths together and it just knocked my socks off. In particular that wallpaper does an AMAZING job of giving not only a sense of immense scale but also of a purposeful battle group. (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Well, if you wanna take an overseas trip to Australia... the hangar bays are what it was mostly about, else I probably would have just made something in minifig. (...) Actually, I'd always thought of them as Ken-tucky colours, but savour your (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Oops, I do believe I forgot to mention that both ships' windows and hangars are all interior-lit! It just photographs really badly. The engines light up a fiery red, too, again a Dragonstar influence. I'll mention the lighting in the builder's (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Well, it was the features I wanted that decided it, otherwise they would have been minifig scale (albeit slightly different designs). I wanted to make capital ships that (...)
