Re: The Monthly Lego Challenge Proposal -- plz respond

(...) Heh, for me, competing is 3/4 of the fun. :D Most of my best stuff was made when I was competing or otherwise trying to "one-up" someone. ;) ---SteveR (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: LF122 StarDart, Light Strike Fighter

(...) Thanks, Paul. I appreciate the positive feedback. It took me five revs to get from the basic concept to the final product, so I'm glad it was worth the effort. -- Jeromy Irvine (URL) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: space legends and the SW licence

(...) It was my impression that Life on Mars was supposed to be a supliment to the town theme. To interact with the Space Port sub-theme. (URL) I think the intent was that it wouldn't be a "full fledged space theme". Just a bunch of normal (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: space legends and the SW licence

(...) I read that LOM sets were an off-shoot of the Town Spaceport sets already out on the market....town astronauts and science guys, etc. I also think the Solar Explorer is a loop-hole since there is a probe and ground vehicle attatched to the (...)   Re: How do YOU make your hangar bay doors?

(...) Interesting. Train hinges? Anyways, I recently built some doors that are 18 studs tall and 16 wide each, and slide on a track apart and together. They are on the outside of the ship so the surrounding surface of the ship is flat. I used the (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: space legends and the SW licence

Re: space legends and the SW licence

(...) I realize that most vehicles in the LoM-series are ground vehicles, but there is the 7315 Solar Explorer, which is clearly a flying space ship. I also seem to recall that some of the alternate models in the LoM-series are flying space ships, (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

Re: space legends and the SW licence

(...) The way I heard it - from a friend who worked at LEGO Futura on several of the Star Wars models: The license with Lucas specifies 'no flying spaceships' - or words to that effect. So the 'Life on Mars' sets are ok, since they are strictly (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

Re: space legends and the SW licence

(...) This rumour has been repeated many times on LUGNET and RTL, but I can't remember that I have seen an actual confirmation of it. Do you have any real evidence that this is so, or are you just basing your above sentence on the said rumour? I (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space)

Re: Et in Arcadia Lego - new MOCs

(...) Hi Paul. Sorry for not responding. I haven't been posting as much since the new suck-tastic security confirmation thing. I was all comfortable with my newsreader, and now I have to, in effect, send the message twice. Once or twice isn't too (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

How do YOU make your hangar bay doors?

I brought this up, again, after seeing an ancient article listed underneath the building tips section of the Galaction Shipyard (great site, Jon.) Anyhow, with my newest ship (grrr, I need a camera!!!) I constructed a very simple, yet effective door (...) (24 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)
