well, no. It's easy to get it to turn on, but it doesn't stay on. It flickers. I'm sure it can be controlled (because it's used to send data) but just using OnFwd(OUT_C); causes it to flicker. Yes, I use NQC and BricxCC to program it. I'm not sure if I'm setting it incorrectly, but it seems like the 'laser' on the spybot (motor out C) flickers, which is really bad when you're reading the light sensor. (...) If you get a "parse error" (i.e., the error actually contains the text "parse error") then more than likely BricxCC thinks it should use NQC to compile your file. I had a thought about this... Why not attach an external power source, and use it to power a lamp mounted right next to the "pipe"? After doing a little more sleuthing, I was able to find out how to process incoming IR and VLL messages. And yes, thankfully, VLL decode is built into the firmware! (...) I've got to try BrickCC as well. I'm not surprised at the light detector performance. The light pipe is good, but not that good. It's pretty nice to program my Spybot with BricxCC. It's just like working with an RCX. But I'm having a problem getting a reliable reading from the light sensor.
