I vote for a centrally hosted set of pre-built minimal tools for each platform.

Like I said, I'm willing to host such a site for at least a year if
others would like to contribute. That offer includes any necessary
binaries for other tools as well- pbFORTH, NQC, etc.

Great!!! I know Gavin's toolset works for Win98, you might ask if you can
pinch a copy and host it on your site. I'm not against building the tools,
or the tools themselves. In fact, the GNU assembler and debugger (and m4)
were the tools I used to put pbFORTH togehter in the first place. I just
HATE wasting time, so if Luis is willing to host the binaries, let's give
him all the help he needs!
