  Remotely starting RCX

Hello, As an unexperienced unix programmer it took me 16 hours to download and install LegOS on my XP and make the 'Hello World' message appear on the RCX. (Oh joy!) After another 4 hours I managed to compile my first program. So thinks go slow but (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

duh... guess i was kinda wrong here.. IR is in reality a frequency defined from A to B. any messages sent within this spectre is said to be IR messages. so in theory sending an IR message closer to A than B from one RCX. and at the same time sending (...) Hello Henk, (...) If you run "dll" without a file name to download, dll will tell you all it's switches. One is the -e switch, that executes the program you download. So "dll -e helloworld.lx" will download helloworld and run it. Another possible (...) (24 years ago, 5-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Hello! I purchased a Mindstorms 2.0 with USB tower half a year ago and now I want to play with it... My computer is running WinMe so I downloaded the winlegos.exe package from the legos page.   got usb tower working at quad speed under linux

I've managed to get the USB tower working for quad speed downloads under linux. There were some interesting issues along the way. 1) The usb tower doesn't allow control over parity, so you have to leave it on odd. I got around this by making a new (...)   Re: Automatic RCX Battery Recharging

Yes, the object is to have the RCX robot monitor its own battery charge (something available to the RCX firmware, and lejos, etc..) and then when it is consistently low to drive up to some sort of home made charging station and get a boost.   Re: some more questions about lnp.

The frequency of the RCX's IR does not change at all: " The RCX uses a 38kHz carrier, which is pretty typical for TV remotes. As for the sampling rate, the RCX runs at 2400 bps, which makes each bit approx 417us " (URL) think the only way you could (...) (24 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Or swap a USB tower for a serial one with someone - I'd certainly swap mine for a USB. "Richard Carver" <mylegostuff@thecarverzone.com> wrote in message news:E17EbGv-00054I-...box.com... That's because the current IR tower requires USB and Windows 95 didn't support USB (well, except for Windows 95B but I think most of the USB drivers were custom/non-standard). It might work with Windows 95 if you get the old serial tower. I picked a (...) (24 years ago, 2-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
