As far as I know, it only opens the COM port when some application is actually using the .OCX, so the port should be available for use if you're not running (...) Hello I've downloaded 2.1r1 src and rpm and 2.0.2 src. No matter which version I use, the results are the same: # nqc -d melody.ncq Downloading Program: Nothing else happens. I tried the uart stuff with no change except for this: From further testing I realised that the data that the IR Tower is sending is been recieved by the RCX (woohoo) even though a collision is reported for every sent (...) 		Connecting Via a USB Hub
I have a USB Hub with an RS-232 port. When I connect the IR Transmitter to this port, the firmware downloads fine. If I have a program with a single RCX command block, it's fine too. No matter what I do (opening the window, turning on more lights etc) I can't get the tower to stop seeing collissions. I must admit that IR reflects so well in my house that the TV remote works form other rooms. So I tried loading your patch (...) (25 years ago, 13-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

		Piggybacking sensors, but in a different way
Is it possible to piggyback 1 sensor onto two rcx's? For instance, have one light sensor connected to port 1 of two different rcx's at the same time. 		Vision Command Wires
Vision Command is a monster install. Mine crashed when it got to the part where you plug in the camera and it does the hardware install. I was cheating a bit. (...) Offhand, I'd suspect that the problem is either interference from lighting in the room, or perhaps your IR tower is 'marginal'. 		Setting a different com port w/ frmdl3 and dll
It appears that you can specify a com port other than the default COM1 for the firmdl3.exe and dll.exe programs for the Windows LegOS distribution package. Does anyone know what the syntax might be? I use COM4 for my IR Tower. Thanks, Dave (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

		LNPd problems
I'm having problems with using LNP to transmit to the RCX. I wrote a test program both on the RCX and the PC.
