Which terminal on Linux? plus random thoughts.

I'm interested in other people's experience with various terminal emulators on Linux. I've been using minicom with indifferent results, probably because it doesn't support delays between lines which possibly overruns pbforth's serial input. minicom (...)   Duplex Comms with RCX

Hi I am sure this has been done many times before, but I am having trouble confirming information. I wish to purchase the RIS 1.5. But before I do I need to be sure that I can communicate with a running program on the RCX and that the RCX can (...)   IR communications related questions

I've been working with LegOS for a while but am quite frustrated. I have been unable to get lnp working and am thus unable to to communicate with the host. It is all overkill for me since I merely want to capture some simple data. I am switching (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  Another way to avoid Float

For the navigation of my robot, I do not plan to use float or trig function. I will use long integer (32bits). the high 16 bit are the true integer value. the low 16 bits are 1/65535 value. let say 1 = 0x00010000 2 = 0x00020000 2.5 = 0x00028000 2.25 (...) Hello Has anybody encountered problems using the LNP integrity API, when many frames/s are received?   IR Tower - Laptop Comms

Maybe not exactly Lego, but..... Has anyone any thoughts about using the IR Tower to communicate with a Laptop's built in IR transceiver? Maybe set it up using Direct Cable Connection?? If I should ask this elsewhere, please put me straight :) (25 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: how detect other RCX robots with light sensors?

Assuming both RCXs are facing each other, this can be done by using the IR transmitter of the RCX on the detected robot, and a forward pointing light sensor on the detecting robot. Set one robot (the detected robot) to send out constant IR messages. (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Hi Everybody, I have used SendSpybotMsg and SendSpybotCtrlMessage (of course in connection with resopective set messages) without any problems using BCC 3.3.7.5 and 3.3.7.9. These two commands gives RCX a nice control over spybot. Specially (...) (20 years ago, 8-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
