  Re: RF Connection To RCX

One way to accomplish this is to use wireless serial devices. These RF devices allows one to hook up ANY serial device wireless. I have seen some listed on ebay for about $100+. The setup is as follows: PC--> serial transmitter serial receiver-->IR (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) No, it's way simpler than that. The text files on the Palm are source code for Quartus Forth on the Palm. The idea is that the *same* source gets sent to the RCX via the IR link - you can do it now with a serial link, a terminal emulator, and (...)   Communications (I'm a total newbie by the way)

Hi I've been reading the NQC guide v2.3 and I notice it tells me how to send and receive IR messages. Now I reckon I could send messages between RCX's, but how can I send messages to a program running on my PC via the IR tower (assuming that's (...)   Re: RF Connection To RCX

Hi! I also try to use RF to replace IR communication. My idea, to create a RF/IR two way adapter and to make an RF tower connected with PC. The adapter taped with RCX can receive RF signals from PC and pass to RCX by using IR emitter. And if RCX (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Hi All. I'm trying to build an IR proximity sensor with LegOS, by using the on-board transmitter and light sensor. I'm having problems figuring out how to send data, however.   Re: Decoding the LEGO IR remote control

In light of the underwhelming lack of response to my LEGO IR post, maybe I need to clarify a little: The RCX tower and the LEGO remote control (#9738) both transmit a 38kHz carrier which is modulated at a 2400bps rate. The encoding is 8 data bits, (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

It appears that you can specify a com port other than the default COM1 for the firmdl3.exe and dll.exe programs for the Windows LegOS distribution package. Does anyone know what the syntax might be? I use COM4 for my IR Tower. Thanks, Dave (25 years ago, 2-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
