| | Re: IR Sensitivity - Was: 1.5/2.0 infrared problem
| (...) Hello Mark, Thanks for your answer, this will keep me from dismantling once again my RCXs ! So it seems that LEGO modified RCX2.0 to get better compatibility with Spybots/Manas. Now a question remains, why did they increased carrier frequency (...) (21 years ago, 23-Oct-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | communication brick <-> PC
| Hi there ! I've got a question concerning ir communication with the brick ... After having done some low-level debugging to make a self-written programm communicate with my brick using the IR tower, I'd like to make my programm control the brick. (...) | | Re: Tasks vs. program slots
| (...) They are one and the same. When transmitting, the IR tower just uses the RS-232 TXD line to switch on the 38kHz carrier. It also has some timing circuitry to keep it alive, and an Rx side, but the Tx is painfully simple. You'll probably see (...) (25 years ago, 18-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| | Re: Curious problem with download
| (...) Unfortunately, the problem is not ambient light. I was trying this in a dark room at night. The only light source in the room was the monitor. I really think we can rule out the tower since my friends RCX loads with my IR tower just fine, and (...) (25 years ago, 3-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| | Re: 1.0 brick not responding

| (...) Tammy, A couple questions... 1) Does the light on the IR tower flash when you're trying to communicate? 2) Did it ever work (did it work before, but stop, or is this the first time you've tried communicating?) 3) What are you trying to (...) (19 years ago, 12-Sep-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Serial Comm with RCX
| I am trying to connect my HP49 Calculator with the Mindstorms IR Tower, I thought I had got the protocols right, the Green LED lights when I send the packet but nothing else, no reply from the RCX. Am I missing something?. Protocol 2400 baud odd (...) (25 years ago, 16-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | RE: LNPD and Cygwin
| Actually, last night, I was able to get .NET talking to the IR tower, and have a method for (most of the time) reading an LNP packet, but not processing. If I tidy up the code, would anyone be interested in it? Matt -----Original Message----- From: (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | IR remote control codes.
| hi all, has anyone experience with the IR codes transmitted by the remote controler. As far as I know, these codes are normal direct commands, which you also send from your PC, using the standard IR tower. The documentation on this issue is not very (...) | | LNPD: communication between clients
| It seems that when a client of lnpd sends data to the IR tower, these are not sent to the other clients connected to the daemon. Unfortunately, I really need this feature... So I tried to call "deliver_packet(tx_buffer, tx_end-tx_buffer);" in (...) (23 years ago, 28-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Re: MacNQC and RCX Troubles

But there *are* cases of some strange serial behavior between Macs and the IR tower. My 300MHz (...) (24 years ago, 30-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

The 1Kp and 3Kp transistors have equivalents of BC548B and BC558B, which are common (...) (20 years ago, 28-Dec-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

| | Re: how detect other RCX robots with light sensors?
| Assuming both RCXs are facing each other, this can be done by using the IR transmitter of the RCX on the detected robot, and a forward pointing light sensor on the detecting robot. Set one robot (the detected robot) to send out constant IR messages. (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
