  Forced to use IR Tower?

Hi all, sorry if off-topic, but perhaps anybody knows if there is anyway to communicate with RCX through my laptop ir port. Actually I connect with my Palm through COM4, but when I set Bricxcc to this port says can't find robot. Thanks Francis (23 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Somewhere in the bowels of the header files within the RCX SDK is a list of "IODEVICE control commands" which does include description of messages required to change baud rate on the USB tower. The GUI version is 2.1.0. The pbForth version (COLD) is 2.1.2. I am using the USB tower with RIS 2.0. Once the RCX stops responding, if I pull out a battery and re-upload the firmware, the RCX will respond again to the same GUI session. In other (...)
