| I investigated this issue a while back an have taken apart all four of my RCX's (1.0 w. adapter, 1.0 w/o adapter, and 2 2.0's from an RIS1.5 and and RIS2.0). They all have internal voltage regulators. I've written the number down somewhere on this (...) (23 years ago, 2-Feb-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

I built a robot to try out dynamic equilibrum, i.e., balancing a weighted stick, only to notice that my construction didn't turn at all because of sensor friction. (...) I'm not sure whether the RCX will cope with a capacitive load rather than an inductive one, so I would advise you not to put the capacitor across the RCX output without a motor in (...) That isn't the real reason though (I could always handle that in software). The real reason is that ever since I (...) (23 years ago, 6-Sep-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| Hi, all - I was reading through the sources, and I noticed that starting with 0.2.3, there was no dsound_play. Does anybody know why the 8 kHz sound playing subsystem was taken out? That was, IMHO, a way cool feature. Was it just too buggy? Also, I (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Re: Powered Sensors
| Ok, I have gotten myself confused again. 0-0.32mA represents a voltage dropbetween 0 - 3.2 volts. Therefore the voltage that the RCX "reads" on theA2D is between 5 - 1.8 volts (1023 - 368 RAW)? To get a reading of 0 (RAW)it seems as though you would (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)
