(...) Keep in mind that the light sensor generates a red light, so you're really measuring the reflectivity of the target in the red part of the spectrum. I attempted to do the "black vinyl between LED and sensor" modification that Ralph Hempel documents on his site, but I was unable to get the vinyl to slide between the LED and the sensor (too tight a fit). has anyone thought of an advantage to using two light sensors in the basic photo scanner robot that people have built. I'm working on one right now (mostly the vb programming right now for the pc side and pqc for the rcx). i have two kits to use, so (...) Since I am currently working on line following, I did some tests with the Lego active light sensor. I mounted one on a small test cart pointing down a bit more than 1/8 inch above the "ground". Hi Rossz (...) Yes, I downloaded the legOS.srec on top of the existing Lego firmware and some programs. When you download the legOS firmware will anything currently in RAM be deleted? In my rush to get the package released I made "one more insignificant change". This resulted in a bad path setting being placed in the autoexec.bat file. A general note, there is a README.WRI file. This includes information beyond what Markus originally wrote in README. Perhaps I should have deleted his README (I include it in README.WRI, anyway). One of the first things I purchased was the Mindstorms remote control. It is not expensive, less than $20 'merican. I too have had my problems with this system. Perhaps they come from my inexperience with LEGOS or UNIX, which doubtless is apparent in my description below: Downloading and installing went well.
