I'd like to upgrade my RIS software to 2.0, but it would appear that Lego no longer sells it. (URL) says "Sorry this item is not available in this country." I propose to use opto-couplers with their LEDs in reverse parallel, connected to the RCX output, and their transistors driving a power H-bridge powered from a separate supply. I can't see any (...) Hi Andreas, (...) this is the pwoer supply for active sensors (light and rotation). It is interrupted briefly every 3ms to sample the value of the sensor. (...) Hi, I'm interested in the electronical function of the three sensor inputs of the RCX. I took an osilloscope and measured the voltage of the ports. NGLTC (and other train club) members have been getting creative with their mindstorms. 1) Rail Racers! 2) Lewis Valentine has made a working train drawbridge on the NGLTC layout. Basically there's enough light coming through that it would expose film quite quickly. Also, the ambient does have light in it. If the lego sensor isn't sensitive enough, could I easily replace it with another? (20 years ago, 14-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
