The 9709 RCX Programmable Brick is sold out on LEGO.com but I know that the LEGO Outlet store in Dawsonville Georgia still have a bunch, and for the same price. 1) Can I change the batteries when the RCX is plugged in without losing programming? Is it safe to do? 2) Can I unplug the RCX (with working batteries in it) transport it then plug it in without losing programming? Jude (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Hi Jan, I tested it and it's veeeeery slooo...oooww. Elektuur writes that the interface could be an extention of the RCX for more sensors you may use for your roboter. The dutch electronics magazine Elektuur posted an article 2 months ago about making an I^2C interface for the RCX. (...) The RCX Bricks on sale are the 1.0 version. I think that they are just geting rid of them to make space in their warehouses for other lego sets.
