(...) Great! I found a Win95 machine and just performed some downloads. All of them completed with no problems. I compiled with NQC 2.0 and 1.x compatibility option. Hi, this night is proving productive. I went ahead and tweaked egcs to produce RCX-specific interrupt handler prologues and epilogues. Apply this patch against egcs-1.1.1/gcc/confi...0/h8300.c, and you will be able to create interrupt handlers the (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I'll have to try fastdl at some point. My pbFORTH image is assembled to live at 0x8000 and be loaded just like "real" firmware. If I use fastdl, how do I have to change my firmware assembly output to accomodate it? On the subject of configurable (...) (25 years ago, 3-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Looks real nice on the PC side, Markus, but- where is the source for fast.srec? Was that a deliberate omission? Or just a mistake? (...) You're right - I forgot the delay (that's what I get for typing code from memory). Yeah, 'test and set' is the best solution, but unfortunately the RCX doesn't have one. Your proposed solution is susceptible to the "lockstep starvation" problem. Lockstep starvation happens when two tasks try to get the lock at the same time and execute the same code in lock step, like so: task 1: lock |= 2; task 2: lock |= 4; task (...)
