 | | RCX tower for HotSync?

Has anyone has any success in using the Mindstorms IR tower with a Palm for IR HotSync with a desktop? Cheers, Steve (26 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

LRemote uses the same IR codes as the LEGO remote does. It is still worth trying to train OmniRemote that way though. With OmniRemote, doing the same thing in a different way can make a big difference. I don't know why. Train some buttons and see (...) (26 years ago, 15-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Let me ask another (ignorant) question, then. Have you tried using the LRemote or BrickRemote programs that use an IR tower connected to the Palm device ((URL) As it happens, I have 2 palms (and if you count the emulator, one more ala my laptop to (...) Well, I have had great success using the palm to RCX tools (connecting the Palm device to the IR tower for transmission to the bots) and somewhat limited success with the Omniremote program that uses the built in IR port on the Palm III. My advice? (...) (26 years ago, 14-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.palm)

Hi, all. I just got an RIS for Christmas, and I've been happily alternating between hacking on it and lurking here and at the various Lego sites on the web. Yippee, legos! Ahem. Ed, LEGO does not use IrDA protocol but this is not the problem with OmniRemote.
