  V2x and sonar

Hi, Wouldn't it be possible to wire them both to the same input port and turn on the one that you want information from and turn the other off? For example, the polaroid sonar data states that you can control turning on and off the device, so you (...) (26 years ago, 1-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  SPI Interface

Hi, is there anywhere a function for IC 3.2 to communicate via the SPI interface with another controller ? Thanks in advance. Erwin (26 years ago, 1-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Alternate Part - DB101-ND

I could not get the bridge rect from digikey for the DB101-ND. Does anyone know of an equivelant part(s) that I might get somewhere else? Otherwise I'll have to wire some diodes up for this. -- ---...--- ipscone@halcyon.com Shoot-To-Win! Protect the (...) (26 years ago, 1-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Quick prototyping technologies

(...) I recently contacted Vero aboout Speedwire. The product is indeed discontinued and they have no old stock in the UK. However, speedwire pins are, apparently made for them by someone else. Unfortunately they could not find out (at that time) (...) (26 years ago, 1-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Schematic Question

You're missing the fact that the telephone style RJ-11 cable is an inverting cable. see page 11 of 16 of the Handyboard FAQ at (URL) a discussion and diagram of this (and the consequences of using the wrong cable!). -patrick ---...--- (...) (26 years ago, 1-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Schematic Question

I have been looking at the schematic for the handyboard and the RS232/Charger board. I noticed something that seems wrong. But how could it since this has been out for some time? Power goes out pin 4 of J10 on the Charger board and pin 4 on (...) (26 years ago, 30-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  V2x AND Polaroid Sonar

Hello again, Has anyone been able to wire the V2x compass and the Polaroid sonar device both to the HandyBoard and, if so, how was it done? Thanks, Scott sherman@plains.nodak.edu CSG ITS NDSU (26 years ago, 30-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Quick prototyping technologies

I am looking for good methods for quick prototyping and would appreciate all suggestions. In Mobile Robots by Joseph L. Jones and Anita M Flynn, they suggest using Scotchflex by 3M and Speedwire by Bicc-Vero company as two good alternatives to using (...) (26 years ago, 30-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  memory expansion

Hello, Has anyone figured out a GOOD way to expand the memory on the Handy Board? I would like to try using a 32 pin simm (I have sizes ranging from 256k to 4M) to store mappings (distance and turns) created by the initial "adventure" it takes of (...)   Smooth PWM with IC 3.2

I know this is an old thread but I am just now getting to the point where I can finally start programming. I am using IC 3.2 and the expansion board. I downloaded the smooth PWM routines from Newton Labs but I get errors when I load them into the (...) (26 years ago, 29-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  More Polaroid problems!

Well, everything seemed ok, but now (we are in a crunch again, the final presentation is Friday!) there is another problem. We seem to be getting some erroneous distances and I think I know why. The echo signal is pretty noisy, so my question is, (...) (26 years ago, 29-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Handy board help

(...) There is a little strip of four pins for external battery power and are available with the standard battery pack installed. Two of these are battery positive, two are at ground. Shorting them out is a good way to let the smoke genie loose. (26 years ago, 28-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  IR Transmit

I am trying to get two handyboards to exchange data via the IR. I have tried code from the Dave Negro and Pete McCann code, but I still cannot get reliable data transmission at any range.   Re: Help!! Polaroid problem!!!

Note that sonar in air is susceptible to the same environmental issues as sonar anywhere. In particular it is susceptible to changes in temperature and changes in air pressure. Both of which create a boundary layer that reflects some of the energy. (...) (26 years ago, 28-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Trouble with Tom Brusehaver's Vector 2X routines

Hi! Is there anybody else having trouble running his V2X with Tom Brusehaver's routines? With my own very crude IC-routines I get it working, but I'd like to use Tom's, because they are much more comfortable. Any help appreciated! Alf (26 years ago, 27-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  SONAR

Does anybody have a simple piece of code that just illustrates how to use the sonar modules? Ive looked all over and cant find anything instructional on the web. Thanks, Richard (26 years ago, 26-Apr-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
