Hi, well that's a cooncidence. I'm working on a project witch multiple nodes via RS-232 also. We use a philips microcontroller(well 3 actually), but that doesn't matter for the RS-232 communication. (...) NiMh batteries do not have a memory but they do discharge faster when sitting unplugged. In my Thinkpad 750 (for which I have one NiCd and two NiMh batteries) the NiCd looses < 5% of its charge overnight and the NiMh batteries loose around 15% (...) (...) Well, that is one of the great benefits of NiMH batteries is that they can be charged without ever having to completely cycle them. It sounds like you have some kind of short in your L293B/D circuit. Do you have any single chips you can try separately? Ihave solder two l293 (one D y one B) togethers .If i push that in the board , the battery go off in 60 seconds!!!! i'm sure they do, but the memory effect can be fixed and can be used to your advantage in some cases... you may want to talk to people all a local hobby store... esp. if they have a track.... i never learned the memory stuff, being into gas trucks, (...) Hi, I just came accross a 7.2volt (6 cell) NiMH battery. I think it's from a cell phone.
