Tom, I put the cap in too - never noticed much defference. It must just be for some minimal filtering of noise. I'm kind of new to IC and I don't know how to deal with all the errors yet. I wrote a simple code to record sensor inputs every 15 minutes. Tom, You mentioned that the INIT has the 330ohm. I'm pretty sure it's the BINH and NOT the INIT that should have the 330ohm. Reread Kents documentation. Ahh... This sounds right from when I had the same problem. I just forgot about the disconnecting of the BINH. Mainly because it was accidental at the time. Thanks, I followed Chuck M's advice, and disconnected the BINH, and the thing words, with 23" as the minimum distance. (...) I would have to possibly agree. For those who are interested..... I have recently developed a way of signalling 4 sonars from the HB using a logical switching circuit controlled by one ranging board and another board developed to switch which transducer is being signalled by the (...) Tom, I purchased 2 OEM kits (4 ranging units w/transducers) From this I had 3 bad ranging units. You'll notice a socketed chip on the PCB. I would suspect that this chip is suspect to failure. (...) Since 8" is the 'minimum' distance the board can see, I strongly suspect that your transducer isn't sufficiently damped. Hello everyone, My thinking (albeit limited), has been that simply driving an IR LED with ac (ie:40Khz) as opposed to static dc, is enough to discriminate it from other frequencies like 60 Hz. or whatever. (...) The motors are 12 volt 1 amp motors. I know that the piggyback method will give me the higher current but I am not that fond of that method. Hi, with all this talk of sonar, I thought I finally get to hooking mine up. All I get is 8". If I unplug it, I get 0". I'd swear I have it hooked up right. I got my 6811s from Allied Electorics - www.allied.avnet.com My LM052Ls came from Marshall - www.marshall.com For the Sharp IS1U60, I substituted the Sharp GP1U58Y.
