I don't believe it is a kit, in the sense that you can buy it- IIRC, it
was custom built by a company in the Boston area. Ah- here is the link-

http://www.crl.research.digital.com/projects/personalserver/

Previous to this new solution (which is powerful enough to run NetBSD)
they used the handyboards, about which you can find more information in
one of the lugnet.robotics sub-groups.

Also, supposeably, Tufts
University has developed university level course matterials, but these
matterials were not immediately obvious from the university's web page.
Does anyone know about the lego robotics program at Tufts?

Unfortunately, no- I used to have the link, but can't find it now. You
may be interested in a very similar course at Brown-

For that matter, what is the current state of putting Linux up on
the RCX? I recall seeing about half a year ago that someone was
trying to put Linux on the RCX.

As mentioned earlier, i think that was just a joke. However, legOS is a
very reliable way to program the lego from Linux, and could probably be
extended (with a little bit of work with egcs/binutils) to Solaris or
other Unixes (if that was a necessity for the labs at Bradley.)

Also, aside from the relay kludge, what is the status of
extending I/O for the RCX? The number of I/O ports seems
very restricted. Has anyone done any work at putting up
a serial bus between RCX bricks and breakout boxes?

Can't help you there.

Good luck-
Luis

Thanx
