Re: Flex Cables (was: Does anyone has the 8479 bar code truck? —Dave Baum
In article (...) Nope, for some strange reason its not available in the US. Perhaps some legal issue (lawsuit and/or patent dispute) is what prevents it from being sold here. I wound up having someone in the UK purchase a couple of packs and sending (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I had to work thru a Lego Fan in Italy for my first flex system sets. I really don't understand why there is such a difference in service parts availability due to region. Then again , Lego Group does several things we don't understand. If a (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Flex Cables (was: Does anyone has the 8479 bar code truck? —Todd Bertschi
(...) Hey. I just realized. I bought the Indy Storm when it first came out and it DOES have a small set (for the steering). See what happens when you get the big blue Tow Truck and a Zepplin the day after you build it. It's been sitting in a box (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Flex Cables (was: Does anyone has the 8479 bar code truck? —Dave Baum
(...) The reason I speculated that it may have been a legal issue is that several years ago the flex pack was advertised as available from S@H. For some reason they pulled it from US distribution but kept it in Europe. The flex pack has several (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Flex Cables (Does anyone have the 8485 CCII) —Phil Watt
Thanks to Kevin the 8485 Control Center II scans are available and I can finally build the T-Rex. I assumed no-one would want to part with these cables, so I found a way to make my own length of flex cables with 0.065 string trimmer line, making the (...)         Re: Flex Cables (Does anyone have the 8485 CCII) —Rob Doucette
Can someone post a side by side comparison of Type I and II connectors?? I have the 5118, 8485, 8412, 8437, and they all have the same connector ends. I'm trying to figure out the difference.          Re: Flex Cables (Does anyone have the 8485 CCII) —Phil Watt
Thanks Rob, The type I and II connectors can be seen at: (URL) flex cables are also shown with the "pssible" lengths for the 8485. When I scaled the cable on page 110, I came up with 17.2cm (and it came-up short when I built that assembly), but the (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
