  NXT with 'RCX' rotation sensor

I connected a 'RCX' rotation sensor to my NXT. In the 'view' submenu you can test it, select port 1 to 4 and it works just fine. However programming with it isn't possible. When you select the 'rotation sensor' from the 'complete palette', you can (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT Bluetooth on Intel Based Macs

I have unable to get bluetooth working even under windows running natively on an intel mac. When the autorun started on the lego driver / software disk, it reported that bluetooth would not work on this computer. I setup the pairing manually and (...) (19 years ago, 19-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

Hello John, (...) Will the Linux build be available soon ? The link given for beta 8 has a 404 error. Thanks for your great work on NBC and thanks for compiling it under Linux. Jean-Louis Bergamo, who has just received his NXT :-) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: NXT and Firmware

Your NXT is partway through the "load new firmware" phase -- that's what the c;licking indicates. Here's what you need to do: 1. Open Robolab. 2. Go into administrator. 3. Download firmware. You should get a couple of screens saying firmware needs (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXT and Firmware

My FLL team just received its NXT kit, and I of course decided to learn how to use it before the kids, so I could help them. I turned it on, loaded up ROBOLAB 2.9, plugged in the NXT, and went to the Administrator panel. I changed the port from COM1 (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Bluetooth Direct and System Commands

(...) By way of clarification, the two open write commands above (as well as the OpenWrite command) cannot be used to open existing files. They both return error messages if the specified file already exists. Although they are named "OpenWrite..." (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Bluetooth Direct and System Commands

(...) MessageRead is used to read a message from one of the 10 message queues (optionally clearing the message after it is read). MessageWrite is used write a message to one of the 10 message queues on the NXT. Neither one of these will do anything (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: Bluetooth Direct and System Commands

From: Brian Bagnall There are some Bluetooth commands that are a little cryptic and sparsely documented in the official Lego docs. I was wondering if anyone could point me to some talk on this or shed some light on what these are used for: See (...) (19 years ago, 18-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

Hello Hari, (...) There is a lot of down-gearing in NXT motors ((URL) so you have to overcome a lot of friction to rotate its output. That's why the old RCX rotation sensor still has some uses... Philo (19 years ago, 17-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

(...) Thanks for your continued work on this John. One question: Even after invoking the Coast() macro, there's still some resistance when manually turning the motor output by hand. Is this unavoidable due to the gearing, or is there a way to lessen (...) (19 years ago, 16-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

NXT software's "My Portal" tab now actually does something

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the "My Portal" tab in the NXT software now actually has some content. HI. (...) What's this password thing? NBC compiler can really parse such high-level-shaped code? Please, forgive me if I haven't understood a joke, since I'm as slow in English as I can be funny in Italian! Bye. (19 years ago, 15-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)
