  Re: NBC beta news

(...) Thanks for your continued work on this John. One question: Even after invoking the Coast() macro, there's still some resistance when manually turning the motor output by hand. Is this unavoidable due to the gearing, or is there a way to lessen (...) (19 years ago, 16-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

(...) I've been working on a high level compiler for a while, taking a wide variety of different approaches depending on my mood it seems. Several months ago I had fiddled with a Pascal-based compiler tutorial which I worked through. In the end I (...) (19 years ago, 16-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

NXT software's "My Portal" tab now actually does something

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the "My Portal" tab in the NXT software now actually has some content. The first is a link to the Classic Cuckoo Clock and SoundBot building instructions on the Mindstorms website, and there are some (...)   Re: NBC beta news

HI. (...) What's this password thing? NBC compiler can really parse such high-level-shaped code? Please, forgive me if I haven't understood a joke, since I'm as slow in English as I can be funny in Italian! Bye. (19 years ago, 15-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NBC beta news

(...) Yeah! Speaking from the minority OS here, Thank You! Drat, another fun way to use gobs of my (rapidly shrinking to non-existance) free time. Thanks for keeping up on this stuff, and providing stuff like Mac builds. You're making me a very (...) (19 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  BricxCC release news

I've uploaded a new test release of BricxCC which includes some enhancements in the NXT Explorer tool window as well as a few other minor upgrades. Downloading the NXT firmware from within BricxCC should work in this release (although it has not (...) (19 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NBC beta news

I've just uploaded a new NBC beta (b8). The sourcecode and Mac OSX and Linux builds will be up later today. This beta has some cool new features. Unused variable declarations and unused threads/subroutines are removed before generating the (...) (19 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

My almost 10 minute long video is ready. Sorry it's a week later than I said, but it's not my camera so I had to borrow it again. (URL) (19 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Johnny 5

Hello Everyone: Does anyone have or know where I can get the plans to build a Johnny 5 type robot? Dan has plenty of pics on his site but no build plans.I have been searching for days on the web with no luck. Being an old timer I simply do not have (...)   Re: GBC at BrickFest 2006

(...) That's the method I used on my own ball counter. During testing, I fed it with (counted) hundreds of balls, it never missed (or over counted) one. During LW2005 it counted about 15000 balls a day during a week... some wear now but still (...) (19 years ago, 7-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi all, I'm part of the organising committee on a conference all about social interactions between humans and artificial creatures and we're looking for potential keynote speakers we might invite. I suggested to the others as a possible, a 'Lego (...) (19 years ago, 7-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) LOL!! That may be an idea for next year. To come up with a mindstorms concept/competition that appeals to the other gender as well...maybe Bunnie or our significant others can come up with it! Dave (19 years ago, 7-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: GBC at BrickFest 2006

(...) I raised this issue in June when discussing GBC reliability, seeing that 1 bps implies a measured time interval. Of course, what is the interval?, I asked. The general consensus is that it is a 30 second time interval. As such, the worst you (...) (19 years ago, 7-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: NXT Ultrasonic sensor / Retreiving 8 OBjects at Once

(...) Unfortunately, you cannot operate a ultrasound sensor at this rate. I think it is much slower than this. Before you start a new "ping" you have to ensure that all the echoes from distant devices on first ping have been received before starting (...) (19 years ago, 6-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)
