  Re: Announcing LegWay, Finally

Hi Steve, Is it possible to take a look to the program itself ? What about using standard lego IR sensors instead ? (I think therefore it will be more difficult, but I'm currently trying...) Thanks, - Christophe - (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I'll see about putting something on the web site in the next few days. The code is BrickOS. (...) I'm pretty sure the LEGO light sensor does not have the resolution to make it work. Steve (22 years ago, 16-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Announcing LegWay, Finally

(...) Thanks (...) hmm. no. A couple people have asked this question. Actually, I've put it on a table, and lifted one side of the table. LegWay will tilt, to correct for the angle. (while it rolls down the hill!) It constantly checks the distance (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi people, about inclined surfaces, will the LegWay works with four light sensors? C (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Congrats for making *THE* LegWay :) ...a much talked theoretically possible project, but you done it :) Question: Your solution only works on perfectly horizontal surfaces, right ? What happens if you put a inclined surface in front of the (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

OOPS.... SORRY for the "duplicate" msg! :/ I forgot I was using the lego-robotics@crynwr.com instead of the "need confirmation before posting" lugnet.robotics news list. Sorry. mc. (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

As everyone can see, I think my brain stopped working this past few minutes :> Ok. Now that I got my brain working again (I hope) let's give another go at this. LegWay and an inclined surface: The LegWay will try to climb up to the point where the (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) There's some difficulties with hooking 4 analog sensors up to a single RCX. ;-) Even if there weren't however, that wouldn't change the fact that the range sensors (light or otherwise) cannot tell the difference between the ground being tilted (...)   Re: Announcing LegWay, Finally

(...) Actually, you can look at the rate of change. As the surface is tilted, the robot would start to fall as it tries to maintain a distance. Then, the rate of change will increase, so it will compensate by moving the other direction (return to (...) (22 years ago, 17-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

First off.......WOW!!!! This is the first RCX project to make my eyes bulge from my head. Steve you have done an incredible job. Just two requests? Well, I guess that's enough. Now that the SlashDotting has calmed down, it's been added to my web page. Or, you can see it here: (URL) are the important lines: CenterPoint1 = (CenterPoint1 + MotorSetting - 8); MotorSetting = (...) (22 years ago, 19-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

If others are like me, we've been holding our breath, knocking on wood, and chanting mantras in the hope that nothing got in the way of you sharing the code. The *last* thing we wanted to do was jinx it by bombarding you with groveling, slathering (...) (22 years ago, 20-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)
