  RE: Need for chat server?

Couldn't we just have a common group on MSN chat or one of those services? phil -----Original Message----- From: Marco C.   Re: Backup cd for lego movie maker

(...) This happned to me to 2 old TDK "golden" CD-R's More recently, 3 BASF CD-RW started to fail. Against a light I can see very small (micro) "holes" that started to appear rendering the CD-RW's useless. Lost many backups on those CD-RW's :( Since (...)   Re: Need for chat server?

I'd use it. I'm always in some irc-net whenever I'm online, so, this would be just another hangging place for me :) This brings up another question: Are there any Lego Robotics IRC channels already on existing IRCnets ? Which ones ? Marco C. aka (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Backup cd for lego movie maker

(...) Gamers Know(tm) that if you put a piece of tape or a sticker on the side with less silkscreening, you can balance the CD. The problems come from people either A> wanting the CD to be partially reflective on the top side or B> not doing a (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Interfacing Sharp's GP2D02 Distance Sensor to the RCX

Hi, Here is a link on how to hook up the GP2D02 to the RCX (URL) It seems to be overly complicated. Not to put down on Peter's creation as I think it was ingenious, but there must be a easier way to do this instead of compromising an input & an (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Hammacher/Future Shop Blowout of RIS

Hi Brian, I ordered 2 of these and the order was cancelled. Please add me to your list of unhappy customers. Let me know if you get anywhere.   Re: Elimating the need for the IR tower

YOU ROCK! let me know when something happens and i'll see what i can do about getting a parts kit ready for order from the industrial electronics. a no-power ir tower is exactly what i was looking for for programming from my PSPC bu i think that i (...) (...) That's it! I can't stand it anymore. I think some of us have been "dissed" by Hammacher.   Re: Need for chat server?

I think that if you were to create a chat server strictly for lugnet that not only would they appreciate it but people would use it. not at first because it would take a while for some to hear about it but eventually it would get used. i personally (...)   Re: Hammacher/Future Shop Blowout of RIS

(...) Whoo hoo-- I got my order, and at the $117.99 + tax price too! A friend told me they have since changed the price on the web page back to $249 though. -Roy (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: Microsoft and LEGO Company Announce a Shared Dream

(...) Don't worry too much about this. It seems like typical marketing blather and probably won't affect that actual bricks too much. It's probably going to affect games and software, as well as shared web content. Now, if I was Michael Lachmann, (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Microsoft and LEGO Company Announce a Shared Dream

I'm glad I finally got my 1.5 version RIS this year. When the MS "enhanced" 2.0 kit arrives, my robots will act like brain-dead zombies, bashing into skirting boards and inexplicably locking up every five minutes. Now they'll have to invent a (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: servo motors...

Re: Microsoft and LEGO Company Announce a Shared Dream

Oh no! This is very very bad. Any good will one may direct toward Lego and its products certainly won't be redirected toward Microsoft, at least as far as I am concerned. If and when Lego becomes a small satellite of Microsoft's, it'll all be over (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Robot Idea (been done before?)

That's a 'plotter' input device you're descibing - it used to be quite a popular input device for CAD (and I think still is at the high end of the market), but for general use, the mouse has replaced it. I remember building something similar for my (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics)
