The holiday has brought a mate for my original RCX, and we are seeking things to do with the two, using messages or whatever. I remember a few posts about some kind of tag, but the search function is down. Any ideas or pointers appreciated. --Jack (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi there ! 1. Do you know if it exist any VB programming issues with the "Vision Commander"(webcam) only ? (I'd like to use the SPIRIT.OCX or an other way to build VB app's with the Vision Commander only.) 2. If not, is the only way to code in VB (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Hey Y'all: Whereas the search function on Lugnet is down, could someone please repost the details of the Mindstorms upgrade kit that one could obtain from S@H some time ago? I guess the order # and the qualification details would be all I'd need, (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

 | | RE: Battery Eliminator

(...) Hart, The battery eliminator is generally used for low current appliances like transistor radios. It will not have enough power to drive a motor at full capacity. Put another way, a 9V battery can supply a lot of current at 9V, but the battery (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

All, I got tried of always changing batteries so I purchased a 9V Battery Eliminator from Radio Shack (273-1552) and connected it to a 9V battery box by soldering on 9v battery leads that snap on the 9V Battery Eliminator. I used a volt meter to (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) It really depends on what you want your robot to do. A robot that needs raw speed over smooth ground will probably want some nice wide, grippy wheels - but a robot that needs to run on rougher terrain might need larger wheels. If you need (...) (25 years ago, 26-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Hello! I've just gotten an RIS 1.5 set for Christmas, and was wondering what sort of drive would be best to use for my first major robot (I've completed all those in the constructopedia). Also, what do you recommend to do program-wise? Should I (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi. I don't know where you can find the whole suspension set but it seens that most pieces are very common to technic models, except for the shock absorbers and the steering pieces. You can find 1 shock absorber in set 8251 (sonic cycle). It may (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

I've built a self-leveling platform using a pendulum and light sensor approach. The response time of the pendulum is not very fast, but the platform does not move very fast either, so it works reasonably well. Details can be found here: (URL) that (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
