Hi, You can try to remove the buzzer on the board, then test beep() function. If the board does not freeze up, that means there is a problem on the buzzer itself. (...) GCC 2.95 versions and binutils 2.95 thru 2.10 appear to work. I believe readers, here, have also successfully used gcc 3.0 and 3.1 but not 3.2. Hallo, Which versions of gcc/binutils and newlib is brickos developed with? As I read in here and tested myself, it doesn't work with the most recent versions (gcc 3.2, binutils 2.13 and newlib 1.10). Do I need a newlib? The howto doesn't mention (...) (...) Pascal/OOP definitely adds a bit of overhead. It is possible that some of that overhead could be lessened by tweaking the Pascal headers. Please help me. All the commands from IC to HB work fine.e.g. analog test, digital test, printf to LCD, etc. But, when I write the command "beep();" the board makes a continuous noise and freezes up. Ok, this may be a silly question but.....Jamocklaquat must be immensly heavy, how do you go about giving motors enough power to actually move elements such as the arms (from the shoulder) or the spine with the wieght of the body on it? I noticed a (...) (23 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I think you may be right about the software differences-- like I said, I've only used 2.0. Still, if you can get a good deal on an older version, grab it. Remember, you can upgrade to the 2.0 software for only $20 (search shop.lego.com for "2.0 (...) (23 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Generall, I think they are all good. 2.0 software is somewhat improved (I haven't used the older versions, so I can't say precisely how much), and each kit includes slightly different pieces, but I think the differences are fairly minor. The one (...) (23 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)
