Re: Proposals, Bug Fixes, etc and tracking them with SourceForge

And don't forget: We need a new NAME!!! There is no reference to legOS on the LEGO MINDSTORMS homepage. I understand their reason for this but it would be good for brickOS (formerly known as legOS) to get more popular. Mike (23 years ago, 23-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Infra-Red

(...) I think this is not entirely true: Depending on your USB controller it may work quite well. I have used USB-towers with Linux 2.4.16, NQC 2.4.r2 in a class last week. They ran for 6 whole days on 12 machines without any significant problems. (...) (23 years ago, 23-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Infra-Red

(...) No, there aren't. (...) The USB tower doesn't work well with Linux for the moment. (...) I've no experience, but I think both should work. A PCMCIA card should be easy to set up (from the computer side it should look like a modem), for the USB (...) (23 years ago, 23-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Proposals, Bug Fixes, etc and tracking them with SourceForge

(...) Here's my first cut at more detail. Thanks to a couple of you for providing some hint of your desired direction and for making my day by your showing of interest. I've more to add but you can get a feel for what I've been thinking to date. (...) (23 years ago, 23-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: 802.11?

(...) We're working on the idea now...among others :) (URL) idea we've been throwing around is taking a PocketPC w/ an 802.11c card and using it to drive a Cyrix USB controller chip. This chip is basically a 8051 w/ some ports. Has all the ROM in it (...) (23 years ago, 23-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  802.11?

Hi! I'm new to this list so forgive me if this is off-topic or has been asked before. I'm curious if anyone has tried or has some pointers on the net regarding making a robot communicate using tcp/ip over 802.11 and how it was done. Thank You, (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robolab appreciation and questions

Hi Bill, (...) So do my son and myself. The web-site, however, is the result of three (!!) years of hard, but interesting work with secundary students. (...) I have got version 2.5.0. from our school-supplier technik-lpe (Germany) . You'll find the (...) (23 years ago, 23-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Robolab appreciation and questions

Hello Claude, Like Jerry, I am very impressed with your Robolab Web site. Thank You also for the pointers to the Tufts docmentation area. My son and I have been working with Robolab 2.5 for several months and like what it can do. I recommend it to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Running Vision Command on XP

I recieved this info today, and sounds like good news to me. "I can answer the questions for this gentleman however I don't know if he'll be any less frustrated. We are working on a Vision Command patch so it can install and run on Windows XP (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.vc)

  Re: Infra-Red

Lego Dacta sells a usb IR tower. You can also get one if you purchase Mindstorms 2.0 set. Mindstorms 2.0 software upgrade is available from Lego (or was when I bought mine). You will have to have the software upgrade to make the usb IR tower work. (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)
