  Re: Measuring robot turn angle

(...) I have done this, although not with a differential. My solution used a rotation sensor on each axel, and good navigation can be done with that. Since you can guarantee that both axels turn the same amount, a single rotation sensor should be (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Measuring robot turn angle

(...) Robert, I have been playing with this problem a bit. Another approach is to power each tread with a separate motor, use a differential assembly to add the shaft rotation from both sides and use a rotation sensor to 'control' to a zero (...)   Re: Lego competitions just like Robotica?

(...) I'm not sure what "Robotica" is, but if you're interested in building your own LEGO robots and having them compete against those built by others, there's several such competitions around. The one closest to where I live is in Seattle. I (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Lego competitions just like Robotica?

I am a huge fan of Robotica and have built many Lego robots and vehicles with different drive mechanisms. Does anyone know of any Lego competitions where I can test out my designs against other Lego opponents? (24 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Measuring robot turn angle

The drive system in my robot is an adder-subtractor (see (URL) which uses two differentials in order to get equalized forward/reverse drive while allowing turning and pivoting (turning in place). For navigational purposes, the robot should be able (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: PIR sensor available

hi Pete, Nice work , it looks good (especially in the far IR) ! I hope your business is running well. From your previous work I know you also put the schematics on your site.   Re: USB Tower for Win2K and LegOS

Hi Dave, I can answer your second question. You can't find it anywhere, except of RIS 1.0 and RIS 1.5 CD-ROM. But you can't use anyway. The Spirit.OCX is for use with serial IR-tower !ONLY! But there is an alternative, the GhostAPI. This should work (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)
