  Re: Expansion sets questions

(...) One thing that's thrown me in the past is that the big blue brick and the big yellow brick (The Scout and RCX respectively) are not quite the same height and have totally different mounting holes.   Injection-Molding Factory

My 0.00000250 Ton LEGO Injection-Molding Factory can be seen at (URL) Navigate to the section: "Inj. Molding Factory".   Re: Expansion sets questions

Greetings, Julie! IMHO you're perfectly safe in putting them under the tree! To be honest, "RIS required" seems pretty far-fetched of LEGO... I believe the software on the CDROM only provides building instructions (and may integrate with RIS is some (...) (24 years ago, 14-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Expansion sets questions

He can of course use the regular old lego parts from the kit to build things (robotic or otherwise). As far as the Mindstorm specific stuff he will probably find that less useful with the Scout.   Expansion sets questions

Feeling quite ignorant here...last year I bought my son 9735 Robotics Discovery Set for Christmas. This year, since I just can't let cheap Lego sit on a shelf ;-) I picked up 9730 RoboSports,9732 Extreme Creatures and 9736 Exploration Mars. Those (...)   Re: Trigonometry and NQC

Thank you for these posts! This idea of creating a table of arctangents is just what I need. I'll let everyone know how it works after I redesign the racer. (The prototype, designed for speed, experienced a significant mechanical shock when it (...) (24 years ago, 14-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

I'm not into robotics myself but........

Wouldn't it be cool if someone built a robot (Lego or otherwise) that could play Jenga. It would need sensetive devices to determine the force required to withdraw a block. It would then have to build up a model of the tower in memory to enable it (...) (24 years ago, 14-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Trigonometry and NQC

Hi Richard, No, NQC does not implement any of the trig functions. However, you can do it yourself. The idea is to use a second order polynomial to approximate the sine function. You can get pretty good accuracy (within about 5%) if you break up the (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Robot Controller

I've posted a new version of Robot Controller ---the ideal companion to NQC for Mac OS X users--- with improved error handling. Also a better web page explaining how to use it.   Vision Command / Windows 2000

This may have already been addressed at some point. Could not pass up on a good deal and picked up the Vision Command for $30 CAD. I had read on this NG before that there may have been issues with how this camera worked under Win2K and as a (...) (24 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  E-Zine for LEGO Robotics
