  marble rail

I've uploaded pictures of this rcx controled rail. The purpose of this thing is to move a marble or two, back and forth. It uses a rotation sensor and 2 motors to pivot the whole thing left or right and a rotation sensor and a motor to move the rail (...)   Re: Mario's new book...

"Building Robots with Lego Mindstorms". I just got my copy today, and I'm thankful for the upcoming holidays; reading the book, learning from it and trying out the ideas will be taking up most of my free time from now until January. I've only had a (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Electro-magnets

IMHO is the easiest way to get strong electro-magnets to disassemble 6V relays. They include good electro-magnets. I did so and was able to hold a 500g hammer with two of them running at 6V. I used relays from FINDER (Series 55 if i remember right), (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Electro-magnets

What is your plan for the electromagnets? If you can not find them, they are simple to make yourself out of fine insulated (varnished) copper wire. You will have to do a little bit of experimenting to get the streingth just right. Wrap the wire into (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Electro-magnets

I'm sorry if this is a bit off the subject- Does anyone know where you can get small electro-magnets in the UK? Nobody seems to sell them. I am thinking of making a robot with electromagnets. BEN (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

source of solar panels for Lego robots?

Can anyone recommend a good source to find relatively cheap, high-power, compact solar panels that could be wired together to power an RCX, or anything else for that matter. I've seen the Lego solar panel in Lego Dacta, but it seems to be very (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Robot Controller

This message announces the first beta release of Robot Controller, a new Mac OS X application for testing and controlling RCX-based robots (with the standard firmware). Download it from: (URL) me what you think! Barney. (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Name of Robolab RCX2 Firmware file?

Thanks again Dave. As it turns out, nqc on Mac OS X expects a firmware file with UNIX line endings. BBEdit Lite 6.1 for OS X did the job just fine. After saving with UNIX line endings, nqc was able to download the firmware. B. (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Request for new P-code.s19

It just so happens that I did make a "merged" and cleaned up version of the Pcode source about a year ago. Like my libhb source, I can't guarantee that it works for everyone, but it seemed to work for me. I've just put it up for download at (URL) I (...)   Re: Name of Robolab RCX2 Firmware file?

(...) NQC is picky about line endings for firmware files. On a Mac, it assumes Mac line ending, on Windows, it expects DOS endings, Unix for Unix. There are a few cross-platform combinations that work ok, but not all work. If you have BBEdit Lite, (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Request for new P-code.s19

There are several versions of the p-code floating around, one person wrote a nice smooth PWM version, and another wrote a no LCD version, and I've seen a few variations with different size LCD screens. I would like to officially request that someone (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
