(...) I doubt there will be significant changes to the ROM. For starters, if somebody has both an old and a new RCX, try downloading the old firmware into the new RCX. No, while the RCX is in an "off" state, the firmware is maintained via a trickle current (something like the CMOS registers in an personal computer) supplied by the batteries. Was that a 1.0 or 1.5? I'm hoping it's just the 1.5's, since there are still 1.0's around. I can't believe there wouldn't be an option for wall power (even with a funky idiot connector to prevent overvoltage). What about models that have large (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I don't think so - it looks the same shape as the pictures of RIS 1.0 RCXs I've seen. I doubt they would change the external shape as it would cause problems with plans in expansion kits etc. I expect there's just a lot of empty space inside. (26 years ago, 19-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Thanks very much for posting the scan of the 1.5 bricks. It's helped answer questions we've all had about what "new" stuff would be included. Of course, now we all want to find out exactly what some of them do! I suppose asking for scans of the new (...) (26 years ago, 19-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
