Re: Question about Ship Classes in Evil Stevie's Game

(...) I'm not sure why 5 was skipped for the wide-hulled ships. In fact, as far as I can tell, Steve has never published the class-5 regular ship record sheet (nor has a class-8 wide record sheet ever been published to my knowledge). I suspect the (...)   Question about Ship Classes in Evil Stevie's Game

I've been preparing to run a session of Evil Stevie's Pirate Game, and I just realized that the ship classes are set up slightly oddly. For wide-hulled ships, the classes are 3 (no middle sections), 4 (1 middle), 6 (2 middles), 7 (3 middles), etc. (...) (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

Hey Jojo, These are great. I particularly like the sashes you made out of the plastic capes and rubberbands - it looks good and has functionality in giving a place to tuck swords and pistols. On the torso usage, I thought the Spider-Man Aunt May (...) (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Arr! Thanks for all these comments! (...) Erm, yes. :-) (...) So by public request I added a pegleg, a hookhand and a wench or two (who knows): (2 URLs) (pics = links, as always) Bye Jojo (18 years ago, 19-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

Ooh! Excellent set of minifig Pirates! Much more character than the official LEGO pirates, and like John, I am surprised how piratey they look without the obvious additions of wooden legs, hook hands, or even the skull & crossbones hat. And the (...) (18 years ago, 18-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

Great work I really like these! The fence mounted horizontally as a ledge is also a great touch. I have long been a fan of the adventurer stomach torso for a pirate, but Aunt May's is really clever.... The backgrounds are also brilliant. I posted a (...) (...) Here are some of mine, which I made for my recent ship Le Castor: (URL) Click next in this (URL). I like yours, it looks like we're thinking alike. Now go and make another fine diorama! Jazzjake (18 years ago, 18-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

(...) I love that building!! I have been trying to build a trading post for a while and I wish I would've come up with what you did. But low and behold I have not. I love your use of the fence as a balcony. Great idea! Great model! And I also love (...) (18 years ago, 18-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

(...) -snip- (...) Great work, Jojo. And the "bottle of cocoa" is quite authentic for the period too! (Though it never achieved the same fame as rum). Spotlighted. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Richie Dulin (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

(...) Hi Jojo, I think I'm in love with the rubber band and cape sash. I can see many uses outside pirates for that. You have definitely got me inspired to start building some pirate forces (once I get ahold of some capes) so I can arm a boat. Tim (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

(...) Ahoy there! Your post appeared just in time! (...) Ha! :) Poor pirates, with those striped-shirt tattooes on their chests... (...) »snipped links« Very nice. I especially like the way you used plastic minifig capes for sashes. (...) Sweet. The (...) (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

(...) No pun intended JoJo? ;-) <snip> (URL) look really good, but not a hook or peg leg among them (not to mention a macaw)! And I need a wharf rat to sneak into the pic... oh, and while I'm at it, how about a wench or two:-) JOHN (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

Aye! I've always been a fan of pirates. Prior to Lego's official Pirates line I was forced to create my pirate figures with non-Lego material. I leave out the link to those customized figs here. Anyway, in 1989 Lego came up with real pirates and I (...) (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX) !!

  Re: Le Castor

(...) Thanks! Individuality is something I always go for. A MOC which has even the smallest bit of story about it, is often a lot nicer to look at and keeping to do that. (...)   Re: Le Castor

(...) I'm glad I got mixed up over that email cos I don't normally frequent .pirates and I would have missed a nice ship. I always think it must be hard to a do a ship differently working on the same bases but you (and Richie) show that there are (...) (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Re: Le Castor

Hi Tim, Thanks! I was going to add that newsgroup but couldn't find it very quick, and thought it not very important. Well I learned it the hard way then. Thanks as well for your nice understandable directions as how to post like a man should. (...) (18 years ago, 9-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats, lugnet.announce.moc)

  Re: Le Castor

(...) Hi Jakob, Neither .pirates nor .boats are terribly well frequented (I saw this because I am nosy).   Re: Le Castor

Hi people, I'm sorry to respond to my own post. However, I wondered, is it normal that noone responds to my topic for a week? In my eyes topics about MOCs are the most valuable, and I'm really curious. Thanks if anyone (anyone!) answers, Jakob P.S. (...) (18 years ago, 9-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Le Castor

A vessel confiscated by the Galleaux navy in a time of war, with a four-cannon broadside and three masts. A studdless ship with origins in the pirates theme. This is my first (online) sailing ship, and with that, my first Lugnet post. Thank you, (...) (18 years ago, 2-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats) !!
