Once more, Congratulations LFB!! Your Takao is a most impressing model what more can you say. The detailed description of the planning and the construction on the new site is most welcome. It is amazing to look at all the onboard fittings. The guns, the boats, the planes and topedo-tubes are master models of there own. Takao is one of my favourite W.W.II ships and I have built (or nearly built) a model of her in paper ( see www.digitalnavy.com ) There is no way that I can match your creation of a big warship in the minifig scale. But since I am familiar with the ships proportions a model in the smaller 1 stud to 1 meter scale might be possible (the same scale as my Fletcher) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=8104 Have a good time in SA Mattias

Mattias- Thanks so much for the feedback--I think selective compression plus the minifig scale meant that some details (for example, using triple TT instead of the real ship's quads) were in fact sacrificed. Hi, everyone. Being lonely in South Africa without my LEGO has finally provided me the time to finally publish the site for my heavy cruiser _Takao_, which debuted at Brickfest in July 2002.
