I totally see what you mean here.  Until I met Larry in person and spent some
time with him (he came to SF on business and we had dinner together) I didn't
care much for him either.  But after meeting him in person I really like the
guy.

However, you are right about his being a little "rough around the edges" and
tends to post in ways that irk people.  I think he's improved over the years,
but it's still an issue sometimes.  On the balance, though, I think LUGNET is
better off with him in "power" than not.
