I can understand how you feel. My wife is allergic to animals in general, so
we can't have pets. I LOVE all animals and am particularly fond of dogs and
cats. I have been told by many people that I should have been a vet as I have
a natural rapport with them (many a "she hates men" dog has been reduced to a
slobbering, tail-wagging mess after a few seconds of my attention. Cats take a
little more time).
This has an up side as I can spend more time on LEGO. If I had a pet (or pets)
I would by my nature spend a great deal of time with them (particularly a dog)
which would be less time with LEGO (argggg, the conflict!!!). This is also one
of the (many many) reasons why we don't have kids. The other is the
competition for all my toys!
Cats do require less attention generally than dogs. My sister's cat only
really turns up at meal times, or when he wants a quick affection-fix, then
he's off exploring or sleeping in the sun somewhere or (most likely now he's
getting older) curled up on their bed. This is probably why they appeal to
LEGO lovers more as you can have both, and devote the correct proportion of
time to both without one or the other suffering (although sleep has a nasty
habit of getting in the way of LEGO time. So too does work...)
To answer your question, I love them all (dogs, cats, birds, snakes, lizards,
horses, elephants, whales, cows, kangaroos, bats......and LEGO), and if I
could I'd have them all (OK, maybe not the elephant).

P.S. I forgot to mention a Pushmepullyou!! Gotta love an animal with no
"exhaust ports", if you know what I mean!!

| (...) Hmmm... how much room does an elephant need ? I've got 20 acres here, well 18 if you take out 2 for the house. I know there is a place that cares for aged circus elephants about 40 miles from me. Someday I'll have to stop in and learn more (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.people)
