At the first MichLUG meeting, there was a ship with a very cool, but simple
design for landing gear. Here are some picture links:

<http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=40434>

Unfortunately, they're all detail shots, and the ship is upside down.
The basic idea is to put together two pairs of part 2880, the rod with
hinge-fingers at each end
(<http://guide.lugnet.com/partsref/search.cgi?q=2880>). mount the paired
arms at right angles to each other. This gives a very compact gear that
retracts straight into the ship. The bottom of the gear-pad can be used as
the cover to the hole. It's really cool.
Unfortunately, I don't remember who did this very cool ship, so I can't give
proper credit! So I'm crossposting to MichLUG--who brought this ship?

| (...) There's a nice array of weaponry and I like the side by side cockpits, especially. The silhouette is very good, too. Nice and narrow from the side and the front. I would have to think it would be quite difficult to visually spot in space, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jul-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.us.sealug)
