  Re: Progress on Ore Dock

(...) They should be black or brown (canadian national colors *i think*). I have seen some other colors. I was hoping our friend to the north, Josh Baakko, could give us some insight on what he sees at Marquette and the surrounding area. (...) It (...)   Re: Life goes on

(...) I saw some discussion Amy's church and decided to eavesdrop. (...) My apologies--I didn't mean to seem like I was chewing you out about it. Dave! (25 years ago, 17-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Life goes on

(...) Silly boy, I only go in churches for weddings and funereals. We're both married already, thanks, and I have no plans of attending anything else. :-) But ya, that would be neat. (25 years ago, 17-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Life goes on

Dave & All, What are you doing in MichLUG Dave!? ; ) (...) I never said you could not, I just offered my observations on debate to the audience, as it was, in light of what happened last week. People from MichLUG can attest to that before, and my (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Progress on Ore Dock

More ore dock thoughts. If this goes forward, we will need a lot of essentially identical small ore jennies (slang for what the small hoppers are called). Although the prototype hoppers are 4 axle, they are very short and a 2 axle design may be the (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Life goes on

(...) In fairness, though--the religious debate arose out of a question regarding the tragedy. If one cannot discuss religion at such an ultimate moment, when should it be discussed? And anyway--I thought you didn't read OT.Debate anymore? 8^) (...) (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

Amy & All, (...) We still don't have our TV hooked up, outside of movies and video games, but Lynn ordered Something today, so I get History Channel back at least. It's funny to see how endless cycles go in LUGNET, in pacticular, debate, it is back (...) (25 years ago, 17-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Progress on Ore Dock

(...) I would say make a larger test segment before you draw that conclusion... (...) That's a good question and I would defer to the folks talking about the dropped section for the authoritative answer. IIRC when they said "22 bricks" they were (...)   Re: Progress on Ore Dock

(...) I can stick with 2 tracks since that is what the one in Marquette has *I think* I also think one track won't look as good as two tracks. As for the grade, I wanted the track to come down to the ore dock from a hill like the one in Marquette, (...) (25 years ago, 16-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Progress on Ore Dock

(...) I can see two, although I would argue it will be plenty dominant with just 1. But 4 tracks is way too many. The throat will take up too much space. Remember, selective compression... Why do you want to widen it? Docks often have slight grades (...) (25 years ago, 16-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Progress on Ore Dock

(...) If it is too tall then I will shorten it due to the fact I want to be able to run my ore cars on there. But one thing for sure is that I am going to have to widen it to accommodate 2 or 4 tracks. (25 years ago, 16-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: Progress on Ore Dock

(...) Looks pretty good Kai. One suggestion though, try saving the picture in a picture editor to decrease file size. 618K is a really big, a 6 min load for me at home. As far as specifications go, I think 27 bricks is already to high. I am pretty (...) (25 years ago, 16-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Progress on Ore Dock

Hello, As I explained to some folks at the Ringe-fest I will be making a Ore Dock for the harbor at GATS-02. Here are some photos: (URL) sits about 27 high and is 10 wide. I will be much taller once I get some more parts. It will be able to have 2 (...) (25 years ago, 15-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

Finally Started my LEGO Storage Facility, er.. basement

To All, I know in light of this week, how difficult it seems to do anything, but I am determined to go living life, as many people are starting to do. I have finally started on the basement this week, and am making progress. Lynn is busy sorting (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  Re: fleebnorker

(...) I beleve that Mark Sandlin coined the term. You were correct in your assumption. It seems the best way to keep the fleebnorks are bay and from getting into the exaust ducts is to burn them out with a plasma torch. Traditionally this is (...)   Re: fleebnorker

(...) Trev, I'm sorry, I have to confess a little ignorance on this one. What exactly is a "fleebnork"? I've seen that term occasionally thrown around on the space newsgroup, but I feel like I must have come in late and missed out on some sort of (...)
