As for a LUCNY/GardenSlug event -- I am all for it and I think Wayne
Sardullo was trying to gauge interest several weeks ago but did not get any
solid answers then.

December seems so very far off -- too far to really plan for at this point.
LUNCY will be losing a bunch of members to college, etc.  in the fall. but
that should still leave 4 solid members.

Right now most of the LUCNY members are busy planning the layouts for A Day
Out With Thomas the Tank Engine.  The first day of that show is June 20 and
we will be set up until June 30.  After this event, the LUCNY calendar is
wide open.

lil snip

The Green House is absolutely beautiful. I felt at home. The Green House
manager was also very kind and she seemed genuienly glad we (GardenSLUG) • was
there at the event. We have standing offers to display and hold meetings • at
the Green House in the future. I say we oughta go for it. The place is • huge!

Absolutely!  With just a little notice we can meet there just about • anytime.  If
we want to display again, we may even get a little press.

More specifically, they will be having a holiday event on December 7, • 2003.
That whole back of the greenhouse is available to us.  The owner is a • model
trains fan and I mentioned Lego trains.  If the guys in LUCNY are up for • it,
maybe we could do a combined gig?

Any other SLUGs interested in working on a train display?  We need some • scenery,
buildings, etc so this would definately appeal to a wide variety of • talents.

We would also need some logistic help from LUCNY (even if they cannot • attend) to
avoid re-inventing the wheel on some things. (layout size, rail • configurations,
scales, etc.)

So, any early takers?

Jeff
